ABOUT PAPERLEAF STUDIOS
Paperleaf Studios was developed out of my need to create when I stopped teaching to adopt our two delightful children. I will always be incredibly grateful to my husband and children for their inspiration and the joy they bring.
Paperleaf Studios started out creating bespoke wedding stationery. Within 6 months of opening I was named Wedding Stationer of the Year for 2019.
Alongside this I was making packs of Christmas cards and art prints which were selling well in a local shop and online. Then, when we adopted, we found that the occasion was barely marked, and we didn't receive the celebration cards that you would receive if you gave birth to a new baby. Since then I have become passionate about creating adoption celebration cards alongside my other ranges of greeting cards, art prints and wrapping papers.
During and after Covid the wedding stationery market completely changed, and I found myself drawn back to my love of drawing and creating art. With less and less wedding orders I started to look for some other artistic outlet - which was when I discovered the world of surface pattern design. I started out drawing, teaching myself the basics of repeat patterns, and then started taking course after course to improve my drawing skills and my ability to create different kinds of patterns in different ways while remaining true to my style and identity.
It's been a steep learning curve, and I am proud to say that I am still learning, because I believe that art changes us and will continue to change us and teach us new things.
I sell my patterns on Spoonflower and am available for licensing and collaborations. I am also a greetings card creator for Thortful.
I sell some adoption ceebration cards on Etsy and am looking forward to selling art prints in the near future,
